As “T”, I am talking about “Toothache”? What is toothache? What are the causes and symptoms? How can homeopathy help in relieving toothache? Read the post to know more.

What is toothache?

The pain in or around the tooth is called toothache. Toothache is one of the most common problem that affect most of the people once or more in their lifetime. Toothache is not a disease itself; it is more a symptom of other underlying disease or teeth (or oral cavity) issue.

Toothache can be mild and gentle in nature and it could be severe and extremely painful. The mild tooth pain is usually caused by swelling or inflammation in around gum area. Mild toothache did not require any specific treatment or dentist visit and get cured within 2-3 days by using simple home care measures (like salt water gargles and use of clove oil).

Severe toothache is caused by other serious reasons like teeth decay or abscessed tooth, and did not respond well to home remedies. For treating severe toothache, it is must to visit dentist clinic and take professional dental treatment as per cause of toothache.

Why toothache is so painful?

Though tooth seems like a bony structure but pulp (inside the tooth) is one of the most sensitive part of body. It contains rich nerve supply and blood vessels. When due to any reason, the pulp is infected (bacterial), the nerves inside the pulp get irritated and cause severe pain. The food rich in sugar act as a strong factor that stimulate bacterial growth and increase bacterial infection and pain in and around the tooth area.
