Fab post Surbhi. I cannot agree more. Loved the quote by Ann Lamott. Spending my some quality time with ourselfbis very important to be able to give our 100% to the outside world. There is so much that goes on within us and we get so busy with making our presence noticeable in the outside world that we forget who we are.

It sure helps to think more clearly and concentrate on self too.

Totally agree. Me time is absolutely important for some sanity! Earlier I loved my office trips as they gave me a lot of me time. Of course that’s stopped since the pandemic. I have now started staying up late….to get some me time after the household sleeps.

True, giving time to oneself can bring a lot of peace and harmony within one’s mind body and soul. I make sure that I give myself time every day after I have given enough attention to others at home. This gives me chance to be fresh and happy and and not feel drained out.

You’re absolutely on point here. I know of a lot of people who do not get to spend quality ‘me time’ and end up being more frustrated and depressed. In today’s time, when most of us are spending time at home, mental health issues are at an all-time high since there is limited human interaction.

We often conceptualize me time as a selfish thing to do, or over-hyped topic, but not many know self-healing or spending time in a hobby is a great motivational boost. Very insightful post, Surbhi.

    • Cindy Dsilva

This is so true. But this has to be encouraged in India. Just like post partum depression wasn’t taken seriously, me time is also taken for granted. I mean I know the difference with and without me time.

  • Urvi Kunal Savla

Such a well written article. Me time without any guilt is really important. And the results of it also do look awesome. Will try to incorporate them?

  • MeenalSonal

I liked the way you have distinguished Me time and alone time. In Me time we surely get time to introspect and that further improves our approach towards our relationships and work. Me time is one of the foundation stone for smooth mental health.
