Recently, I got a chance to review well known author Kinga Sczumska’s book “The Sacred Mountains”. What is the book all about? and what is my reading experience with it? read the post to know more!

Book summary

We are all on a journey. Some of us see our mountain very clearly but some can see just a glimpse of it from a distance. Some of us are confident that there must be another world than the one we were born in, while others don’t question it. But far beyond the forests in a village was a girl who decided to go on a journey and learn which world she was really from. This is a story about finding the world we belong to. I am sure you’re on your quest too.

I dedicate this book to all who one day felt out of place but had the courage to cross the bridge.

Kinga was born in Poland and now lives in London. She writes inspirational stories on personal and professional development, work, and travel on her blog: www.kinga.blog. My take on book

Here are some special features of book that I liked so much.

The book will take you to an incredible journey of self-exploration 

The book revolves around the lead character Lola. Lola is a young village girl who always felt that she doesn’t belong to this world. She decided to go on a journey to find out which world she belongs to. Initially, she felt a sense of hesitation in coming out of her shell but with the support of her mother, friend and teacher, she started her self-exploration journey. Her self-exploration journey becomes an incredible path where she learns something new every day. She faced various ups and downs at various stages and met many new people along the way. 

While reading the book, you felt that you are with Lola on this incredible self-exploration journey. As a reader, you felt a sense of excitement when she entered the new mountain village and appreciate her efforts and dedication towards the mountain to learn which world she is really from. but at the same time, you feel sad and disappointed, when Lola struggled with reaching the next destination in her journey. 

Eventually, her joinery to find the world where she belongs becomes your journey too. You want her to be strong and stay motivated to reach the mountain. You prayed that Lola gets all that she wants in life. 

This book teaches you the greatest life lessons  

Personally, I strongly believe life is all about learning new things. When we overcome our weaknesses and fear and work on strengthening positives, we become a better version of ourselves.  

This book teaches you many important life lessons. Lola’s journeys help us to see the world a little differently and give us valuable knowledge about life, the world and even ourselves.  

Here are some examples of valuable life lessons from a book that I’ll likely never forget.  

Chapter 7 “Luck man” 

in chapter 7 “Luck man”, Lola meets luck man and felt a sense of apprehension about taking the boat offered by him. when luck man observed her apprehension, he said, “You need to take chances girl if you want to hit the mountain. You need to calculate risks and take some. You see the mountain. It’s beautiful. It’s a dangerous journey ahead of you. Do not be fooled that it’s going to be easy.” 

With these few words, he offered one of the most valuable life lessons of being courageous and taking risks. His advice inspires you to be brave and determined to achieve your desired goals in life. 

Chapter 10 “Wiseford village” 

in this chapter, Lola meets up with an old woman. She shares many valuable life lessons with her. She talked about nature’s amazing healing properties. She also explained the importance of being grateful in life. she said, “ Your strengths, your powers, yourself most of all, your desire to go, this is all you have to be thankful for. Then you’ll enjoy life, you’ll appreciate the hard bridges, and most importantly, you appreciate yourself, your powers and your strengths”. 

indeed, being grateful is an amazing gesture that makes us healthier, and happier and helps in alleviating negative feelings.  

These two are just examples. The entire book offers many of the greatest life lessons through Lola’s incredible journey. Lola’s mentors taught he many important lessons which help her move in the right direction. I believe, if we follow even a few of these life lessons in our life, we can change our life. 

The book inspires you to listen to your inner voice and follow the dreams 

The book inspires you to listen to your heart and follow the path which is meant only for you. I am sure there are many people (including me) who feel that they belong to a different world.  

Many of us experience that there is much more to life than the settled rules of society. As desperate individuals, we want to escape from the fixed rules and customs of monotonous life from time to time. We want to spend more time in nature and explore its true beauty. Though all these thoughts sound so incredible while thinking but not many of us dare to follow them wholeheartedly.  

This book encourages you to break those barriers and inspires you to listen to your inner voice. Lola’s journeys give you hope that nothing is impossible in this world. If we keep courage and follow a never give up attitude in life, then we can get what we want from our life. The book shows that it is not always necessary to follow a predesign life. You can choose your own path and can reach the desired destination if you follow it passionately. 

The book gives you a larger and more beautiful view of life which is incredibly beautiful and utterly satisfying too.  

Characters are well-defined, and narrations are beautiful, engaging and powerful  

The book is based on the theme of female intuitions. The lead character Lola meets many people during her self-exploration journey. All the people she met have defined characteristics and they help Lola in her journey in their unique way. 

Lola spends a great time with them and learns something important from each one of them. The conversation between Lola and her mentors is so powerful and engaging. The entire book has beautiful narration. These narrations fill your heart with so much warmth and make you feel connected to her journey. 

The language of the book is simple and easy to understand 

As another impressive pointer, the language of the book is classy, elegant yet simple and easy to understand at the same time. Kinga has maintained an amazing balance and expresses her expertise and exceptional creative ability as a writer.  

Conclusion  

In conclusion, “The Sacred Mountains by Kinga Szumska is a beautiful book based on female intuitions. The book inspires us to listen to our hearts, follow our dreams and pursue our passions in life. I had a great reading experience while reading it and I would highly recommend this to others who want to find the world they belong to”.
